Adventure Meets Purpose: Matribhumi School Aspirants Conquer Their Bronze Award Journey
The spirit of adventure was in full flight recently as Ultimate Venue, the official activity provider for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Nepal, hosted the Bronze Award aspirants from Matribhumi School, Sanothimi. This wasn’t just a trek; it was a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and hands-on exploration.
Stepping Beyond the Classroom
Under the theme of Exploration, students swapped their desks for the rugged beauty of the Great Outdoors. Hiking with specific goals in mind, these young adventurers learned that the journey is just as important as the destination. Every step taken was a lesson in navigation, teamwork, and persistence.
Mastering the Wild
To prepare for the challenges of the Bronze Award, students immersed themselves in a series of intensive survival and technical workshops. Our expert instructors guided them through:
Vertical Challenges: Developing confidence and focus through basic rock climbing and the adrenaline-filled art of rappelling.
The Craft of Camping: From mastering essential knots and hitches to the strategic selection of campsites and the precision of tent pitching.
Self-Reliance: Taking charge of their own sustenance with individual survival cooking—proving that a meal tasted in the wild is always the most rewarding.
More Than Just Skills
At Ultimate Venue, we believe adventure is a catalyst for character. Seeing the Matribhumi students support one another through a difficult climb or share a laugh over a self-cooked meal reminds us why we do what we do. They didn't just learn how to survive outdoors; they learned how to thrive together.
Congratulations to the Matribhumi School aspirants for completing this milestone! The road to the Bronze Award is paved with grit and curiosity, and you have shown you have plenty of both.
